CHAKI
AND CHOKOPI
CHAKI Y CHOKOPI
The Yaguarova Chief or
Cacique was the father of Chaki, and this father forced to marry Chaki to Arapatuare; the
carpenter of the village.
El Cacique o Jefe Yaguarova era el padre de Chaki, y él forzó a Chaki casarse con Arapatuare; el carpintero de la villa.
The marriage day was coming, the women were preparing corn licuor or chicha.
El día del matrimonio estaba viniendo, las mujeres estaban preparando licor de maíz o chicha.
Chaki was so sad, that she
was crying day and night because she
loved Chokopi, a very brave hunter who was forced to leave the village by
Yaguarova´s order, the father of Chaki
Chaki estaba tan triste que estaba llorando día y noche porque ella amaba a Chokopi un cazador muy valiente quien fue forzadi a abandonar la villa por orden de Yaguarova, el padre de Chaki.
One day a Paye or Magician
told Chokopi how to visit Chaki. The magician told Chokopi to turn into
firefly. He just had to say the spell to be a firefly and other spell to be a
human.
Un día un Paye o Mago le dijo a Chokopi como visitar a Chaki. El mago le dijo a Chokopi que se convierta en luciérnada. El solo tenía que decir un conjuro para ser una luciérnaga y decir otro conjuro para ser humano.
The magician told the girl
Chaki that the boy Chokopi was coming in the shape of a firefly.
El mago le dijo a la
muchacha Chaki que el muchacho Chokopi esta viniendo a ella en forma de
luciérnaga.
The date day came Chokopi as
a firefly and Chaki as human met each other, but Chokopi forgot the spell to
turn into a human.
El día de la cita vino, Chokopi como luciérnaga y Chaki como humano para encontrarse uno con otro, pero Chokopi olvidó el conjuro para convertirse en humano.
¡ You should have payed attention ! said the magician to Chokopi the boy, now ¡you girl have to turn into a firefly!. The girl decided to turn into firefly because the boy forgot to say the spell and because she loved him, that is how they lived happilly ever after.
¡Debiste tomar atención! dijo el mago a Chokopi el muchacho, ¡ahora tú, muchacha tendrás que convertirse en una luciérnaga!. La muchacha decidió convertirse en luciérnaga porque el muchacho olvidó decir el conjuro y porque ella lo amaba a él, es así como ellos vivieron muy felices.
